A look into Jessica's life

well it's been awhile since i've updated..we have had 3 birthdays..marc's was on the 21st and mine was on the 24rd and kuya dong on the 28th.

thursday - 20th
well han came over and did mine and jac's nails for my bday. and cousin came by cause afterwards we were gonna go up to armida's house to get the tables and chairs for the party. the 4 of us sat around for a while just talking and laughing. at one point jac, cousin and han were comparing car accidents..only would people i know be comparing car accidents.
after that cousin and i drove up to san marcos and traded her z3 for her xterra to get the tables and chairs. then we went to armida's house and got the stuff. we sat around talking with armida as pete and pete (yes they have the same name i didn't screw up) put the tables and chairs into cousin's xterra. that was fun. then we came home and dropped off the stuff. thanks again cousin for do that for me.

friday- 21st
mom, jac and i started working on some of the party food for my party on sunday. we ordered orange chicken and sweet and sour pork from panda express in scripps/poway and pancit and fried rice from orient valley in pq. afterwards we went to marc's house for his bday dinner. got to meet crisco4k finally. rod seemed really cool. it wasn't a big party..jenn and i played darts..i had some funky throws. obviously i am not a pro. hehe.

saturday - 22nd
still working on the party stuff. armida's cleaning woman, judy, came to the house and cleaned for us. she did a really good job. it took her forever but that's ok. it was her first time here..even she said she understood why it took so long. that's cool. mom and i went to costco to get some other stuff and plates and stuff. we went to albertson's in carmel mountain and ordered my cake from gabe..heh.. we ordered a marble cake. mmmm.

sunday - 23rd
party day. well tonight we had the party. it was kinda lagged at the beginning. the party started at 4pm and most people didn't start showing up til 6-ish. damn pilipino time..hehe. but it was all good. ed and mike brought their dj equipment and played music for us..thanks guys. we actually had a good turn out. tata came alone since nana has pneumonia. pete, armida and the girls came. the sisons minus melissa cause she was at rehearsal for her hawaii trip for school. the san ysidro canonizados..all of them except uncle tony..for obvious reasons. auntie linda, carmen,nikki, juni, auntie marie and uncle mon, angie and gina came..cristen and larry came too. cristen is 5 months pregnant with a baby girl..named hayley marie coble..cool and congrats..cheryl and rich brought his cousins from the east coast, karen and mary and richie..jhun and ronda and janell came..yeah ronda is expecting too. marilou, roman, darryl, kristina, phuong and trish came from the csusm crew. quan came too. so it was a nice turn out. carmen brought her beads from fat tuesday in new orleans and the kids were wearing them. they looked so cute. of course everyone was getting the beads. she had 50lbs of it. while we were cleaning up april and ron came by too. there are pictures posted on my site from the party.

monday - 24th
happy birthday to me...
hung out in the dome for awhile. jon was in town for his spring break so that means he was at school with ali. so after hanging out for awhile jon, ali, jac, cheryl and i met up at soup plantation in mira mesa for lunch. we wanted cousin to meet jon. so that was fun. poor jon had to swallow his pride.hehe. if you've ever gone out with cousin you know she likes to pay for as much as she can. so jac, cousin and i set it up so that ali and jon were behind us in line and before they knew it cousin was paying for all of our meals..so that hit jon hard cause he is one of those guys that believes that a guy should pay for his girl's food..it's ok jon..we know how you feel..hehe. we had fun as jon experienced soup plantation for the first time. and i got myself a big ass chocolate chip cookie from soup plantation for my bday. still trying to finish that thing off and today is the 30th.
for dinner mom, jac and i went to black angus for dinner. mom and i ordered the prime rib dinner for two that quan and i had ordered before. that was sooo much food. we didn't even get to the desert that comes with it that they boxed up the huge chocolate brownie for us. that thing took up most of the food container..and it's a good size box. jac ordered some tv special that had lobster tail, steak, fried shrimp, and something else i can't remember. so that was a cool night.

friday - 28th

well we went to kuya james' house for dong's bday. jasmine was sooooo hyper. she was cute. mae didn't cry as much as she normally does. that's good. kuya james and nancy got a big screen tv. it is huge. cool. lucky them. jasmine now has her own room. her room is decked out in precious moments. she even has huge rugs and blankets pinned to her wall. i'm jealous. she has sooo much precious moments stuff. she has a cute mailbox toy.

saturday - 29th
magic mountain baby..
cheryl, karen, rich, jody the guy, ryan the girl and i went to magic mountain for the annual trip. that was SOOO much fun. thanks guys for going. "little bow wow little bow wow".
well i went up to cousin's house around 715am-ish and then cheryl, karen and i went to rich's house. then the 4 of us went to mcdonalds. it was cool. i had a sausage, egg and cheese mcgriddle, rich had egg mcmuffin, cousin had a baby breakfast burrito and karen had what rich had. it was short and good. so then we headed up to valencia. we stopped by rich's aunt's house to drop off clothes to his dad and leave my car. so then the 4 of us head to magic mountain (just an exit up). so we went in and met up wtih ryan and jody. first thing we did was get some fastlane passes. this time it didn't include X or Deja Vu. it had goliath, riddler's revenge, viper, arrowhead something or another and tidal wave. we used it for goliath, riddler's and viper. so first ride is always viper..heh. poor jody. he hasn't really been on rollercoasters. so this was new experience for him. this was ryan's first time at magic mountain. so we were teasing jody and telling him to keep repeating to himself "i am not a wienie". heh. he survived. after viper we decided to battle the line for X. as rich and cheryl stood in line the rest of us got food from panda express. that was actually a good idea. jody and ryan shared their food, karen and cheryl shared theirs and rich and i shared. since a 2 item combo and drink cost 10 bucks there..it basically boiled down to costing each of us 5 bucks..hehe. that's a pretty cheap lunch for magic mountain. we ate as we stood in line for X so that saved us time.we were in line for 2 hours. X was awesome. love that ride. jody and ryan were stoked about it. so then we headed to goliath but it kept breaking down while we were in line so we got out of line and headed to riddler's revenge. that was cool, as always. after that we decided to go to dejavu. that ride ROCKS!!!!..as we were heading over there we suddenly heard this black chick go ballistic and start screaming and yelling and jumping up and down. we couldn't tell from where we were standing what she was all excited about so we asked people that were coming our way from where she was and it turned out that little bow wow and his entourage had walked past us and we didn't know it. but the chick had recognized him..heh oops. so that became our joke..little bow wow little bow wow. so we stood in line for dejavu for 2 hours. we kept saying that this ride better be worth the line since we haven't been on it before. the 1st hour was hell cause the line is out in the middle of nowhere and you can't see shit from out there. but the second hour wasn't as bad...and for the record..THE RIDE WAS WORTH THE LINE. so that was cool. it was cool too since it was already dark by the time we got on the ride. trying to get off the ride, cause the seat is kinda high for me, i landed wrong on the ball of my right foot. it hurt like hell. i ended up limping the rest of the night. after that ryan and jody decided to leave cause ryan wasn't feeling good..she was getting sick. so we said bye to them then the 4 of headed to goliath. i forgot about one of the spirals. that was awesome too. that was killer on my foot since the gravity pull was pulling me down onto my feet. but i survived. after goliath we found a nice family, who just so happened to have 6 people in it, and we gave them our final fastlane pass cause we were leaving. they were sooo nice and seemed generally greatful. so that was a nice end to a great day. so we headed out and we went back to rich's aunt's house to get my car. i stopped by mcdonalds and got some chicken nuggets and stuff and headed home. i got home around 1130pm. my foot was swollen..it hurt soo much that i ended up taking off my shoe and driving home in my sock. it was a good day.

sunday - 30th
well woke up around 830-ish and channel surfed for about an hour. then went back to sleep. quan called around 1030am. he stopped by after the gym. we went to jack and the box and ate lunch over there. of course ray worked his magic and our meals were free. thanks ray. i updated my web page with pictures from magic mountain and my bday party. and now i'm updating my blog. so that's cool. my legs hurt like hell and my foot is better. it will be interesting to see how my legs hold up since now i'm in the backroom at work and have to climb a ladder a lot. [grimace :\] in a couple of hours jac and i are gonna go to forever fondue with april and ron for my bday. this should be interesting..

well it is official. WE ARE AT WAR!!!

i don't know if it's my age or because i have 3 cousins out there right now who are involved with this war..but i seem to be more interested in what is going on than the last time we were in battle. it's kinda hard right now to have my thoughts all straight. i mean i have donald as a marine helo pilot, i have rich as a navy helo pilot and cy as a radar specialist. i know that donald and cy are around there right now..rich is still in latin america area but i'm sure he's headed out there now. i know they will all do their best but it's hard not to worry about them. i'm kinda glad that cy's out in the water in a ship though...donald and rich are little more "out there" if you will. but still anything can happen.

my thoughts and prayers are there for you 3 and all those out there. take care of yourselfs and we'll see you when you come home.

had a cool weekend.

saturday
we planned a get together for princess for tonight. mainly it was suppose to be a cousin's thing but it didn't exactly work out that way. it was princess, andrea, shawn, joyce, jason and michael patrick on princess' side..then matt had a bunch of his friends over, marc had a couple of his friends over, and jac had her crew over..all with permission..but still... it's all good though. we had hungry howies pizza and wings and chips and dips..of course we had the bar open..with shawn and joyce as the resident bartenders. joyce, princess, andrea and i watched a big fat greek wedding. it was kinda funny cause of course there were more guys in the house than girls and to see guys sitting around us watching every now and again. before that, as everyone was arriving, they were watching the michael jackson bday special concert that he had. and everyone was soooo into it. it was funny. especially the guys. they were so glued to the tv you could have smacked them upside their heads and they wouldn't have noticed. hehe..it was funny later on. the living room became a small casino if you will..they were playing "inbetween" and some of the bets were rough..at one point shawn was down 50 bucks. he eventually won it back and he quit after that..smart.. it was funny. later on as the number of people started to dwindle princess started checking out the cds i burned for her. shawn..wasted..planted himself in front of the stereo and became the dj of the cds and started singing with the cds..he was going all out too..it was funny to watch.

around 3am we got a call from my mom..her and auntie chaning had gone to barona so we can have our little gathering. it turns out that the valet people at barona broke my mom's security device in the car. if you don't disarm this device the engine doesn't kick. so princess and i headed down to barona to pick them up. my mom was soaked from the rain cause when they finally told her there was something wrong with her car (45 minutes after she initially asked for the car) they left her there in the rain and she was trying to fix the wiring..they never went back to check on my mom. so she walked back from the valet parking lot to the casino to tell my auntie chaning what had happened and to call us. so we get there and pick them up then come home. by now it's 4am and unbeknownst to us earlier, andrea has to work at 9am and she rode with auntie chaning and the gang. oops. so of course she slept for awhile before we left to pick them up and while we picked them up. hope she was ok at work...so all and all it was a good night..it was fun and princess said she enjoyed herself..and that was the important part..not to mention that we got to see matt's "self mutilation" (his lip piercing)

sunday
it was a chill day. my mom and uncle rolly and dong went back up to barona to fix the car and bring it home. uncle ended up disconnecting the device. the whole housing and wires are broken off. really sucks. and all barona said was to pay for the repairs then file a report to try to get reimbursed. what the fuck is that?!? sheesh people..you broke it and you won't even pay for the repairs straight off..not cool.

monday
had a fricken stats test. i think i did ok..we'll have to wait and see. ali came to school a bit earlier than planned..her family was still in town this morning so she wasn't going to go to any of her morning classes and just go to her afternoon class after taking everyone to the airport. she walked into the dome around 1015-ish..boy did she look torn up..she said she only got 2 hours of sleep..and it was obvious. she was sooo out of it..poor ali..she should have stayed home and gotten more sleep. after everyone went to class i went home and crashed out for about 6 hours. felt nice.

tuesday
today was an ok day. during the big break btwn 1115-1 i hung out with janine and arien. we had interesting conversations. after my biopsyc class i hung out with diana for a bit then later hung out with ali. we had REALLY interesting conversations. i won't go into detail cause it will probably embarrass ali..but it's all good. ;) well i just finished updating ali's web site and now carmen is here to do more taxes..

well as usual not much has been happening with me.

tuesday
ali was at school today. she needed to do research. damn i have never seen her sooooooo livid. she doesn't seem that she'd be on to get upset but she did. we were talking about kay and how the only thing she told ali about her lola passing was "omg :'(" then went back to babbling about her own life and retarded problems with her so called stripper bf. that is just wrong. but you can tell that it really got under ali's skin.
cousin came over after school and her and jac helped me work on my toy for child development. we made a memory game using foam board and foam pieces. basically on one piece was the spelling of the number and the number on all 4 corners, then on the other piece was the spelling again but this time that specific amount of something like frogs, turtles, fish, stars, bears, etc. so that was cool. we watched american idol and stuff after we ate. we ate steaks. we used the new george foreman grill that mom bought. it cooked those things sooo quickly. so that was cool.

wednesday
I AM SOOOO DAMN TIRED!!!!!! everyone was making comments about how tired i looked. and both ali and kristina made reference to the point that i just had my head leaning on my purse to keep it up. i am just soooo tired lately. i don't really know why. there isn't much different now that before. finished my toy and the paper that goes with it. i hope i did what it was suppose to have. oh well. i read an article about the use of music as a mneumonic device for my biopsyc class. that was kinda interesting. as far as trying to remember something for later use melodies helped. but for initial learning and usage visual learning seemed to be more helpful. hmmm...

thursday
well at school we had the international faire. apss performed. they showed off the new dance team that they have going with chris estrella. i'll keep my comments to myself since some of the dancers read this. lets just say it was interesting and leave it at that. i took some pictures..the faces are kinda funny. maybe i'll post them on my site for ya'll to see. cousin came by again tonight and ate with mom and me. it's all good.

just been on the pc as usual. had a long chat with jon about him and ali and stuff. it was kinda weird having that conversation cause it's usually what i have with ali and then to actually have it with the other half of the couple. kinda cool though. been working with my mom on a small flyer for my bday celebration next week. nothing big.

RIP LOLA BERSAMIRA...i'm here for you ali if you need me..

well my weekend was pretty jam packed. luckily i didn't work this weekend. on saturday we had a rosary for lola shanang at gracie's new house in chula vista. so that was suppose to start at 11am. being that we had to take the dinaguan that my dad made, since he was at work, i had planned on leaving the house around 1015-ish. sounds cool right?!? i mean 45 minutes to make a 30 minute drive. about 830am my cell rings..it's inang. she needs to a ride down there. fine..since i'm going anyways..so i tell her that i'll pick her up at 10am. we don't leave her house til 1035am. sheesh. so we get there. it's a cool little house. so we hang out there for a while. jenn, melissa, and jon got a puppy for jon's bday. it is a picanese(sp?) named mochie. she is sooo adorable. she is sooo tiny. she is only 7 weeks old and she fit in juni's shirt pocket. lolo kept calling her a cat cause she was soo small. got to meet gayle's new boyfriend john. he seems cool. nikki and i were talking and all of sudden erica fuerte walks through the door. it turns out that we are related on the same side of the family...the almazans..auntie fe's family. here we all go to high school together and it turns out we are related. what the hell?!? after the mass and rosary they were watching lola shanang's funeral on dvd. that sentence just sounds sooo odd..anyway..who ever did the dvd made it like a wedding video. it was odd. and i kept saying "only the filipinos would have a dvd of a funeral" then inang and lolo started telling me "lets go" i'm like where am i going. i had plans to go to princess' house after gracies. they wanted me to take them to san ysidro to rest before we go to kuya james and uncle rolly's bday party. i told them no. i had plans already. so then auntie azon took them since they were going to her house anyway. anyways..they only asked me to drive them to gracie's i never said i was taking them home either. gracie gave me the huge bag of gaslamp popcorn kettle korn for princess and joyce to help quench their week long craving for it.
so after gracies i call to meet up with princess and auntie chaning says she went with rachel and charlene to take pictures. that's cool. so my mom and i go ahead to kuya james' house and await princess' call. so i play with mae, mellvin, and jasmine. mae cries so loudly. she already knows who usually carries her and she cries when she realizes that you aren't one of those people. mellvin knows how to play rock paper scissors. he even keeps score on his fingers. after being there for awhile inang and lolo start asking me when am i going to take them home cause they want to go early so they can finish packing for the philippines. i told them that i don't know when i'm going home but that i'm going to princess' house and will be there for a long time. i told them to ask my dad to take them home since he still needed to pack. you would think by now they would understand the point that I AM NOT TAKING THEM ANYWHERE ELSE!! i have other plans..just wait..
so princess calls and jac and i go over to visit her. i bring the kettle korn. which she immediately opens. papa nick arrives at grandpa's house right as we do so he's hangin out with us too. jonathan, his wife, and their son nick is there too. papa nick starts telling us about grandpa's coin collection with the buffalo nickels and one cent pennies. so grandpa brings them out and we are looking at coins that are dated back in the late 1890s. that was odd. it was cool though. my mom comes by to see princess too. my cell rings. i answer it and it's inang asking me when am i going home because her and lolo want to go home now. by now i've said it so many times that i have plans, and that i am not taking them anywhere. not to mention that i'm already with princess. so AGAIN i tell her i'm not taking her home and to ask my dad. FINALLY she gets it. after awhile my mom and jac head home and princess and i head up to her house so she can change and we can see everyone. so princess, joyce and i decide to go to target. most of the time we were there joyce was dancing through the aisles. it was funny. so we are in the shoe aisle. joyce and princess are trying on shoes. joyce takes out a pair and tries them on and walks around a bit to see how they fit. she takes them off and proceeds to stock just the shoe without the box on the rack. i ask her why doesn't she put the shoes back in the box and she tells me that it doesn't have a box. so i ask what's the box by her feet. so we are laughing and princess is making fun of her. princess is trying on a pair too. and she proceeds to tell joyce that she doesn't have a box unlike her..only to realize that she's is physically holding her box in her hand. interesting people i tell you. so we go back to princess' house and princess goes through my cd collection from the car to see what she wants burned. at least i got to label all my cds now. i had a grip of them unlabeled. then i went home and crashed out about 11pm. so i was gone for about 13 hours..sheesh

sunday.
dad is leaving for the philippines this afternoon with uncle tony and inang and lolo. so we go to inang's at 1pm to meet up with everyone so we can go to the bus depot in mission gorge. of course there is still some packing going on. no surprise there. uncle rolly and mellvin come up in the truck to carry all the balikbayan boxes to the depot. mellvin keeps saying he wants to go to the airport. so finally we head down to depot. we get there and uncle tony, marc, john, auntie azon and auntie linda are there. then our group was me, jac, mom, dad, uncle mon, auntie marie, inang, lolo, uncle rolly, mellvin, nicole and juni. so there were 17 of us there while only 4 of them were leaving. nicole had to go to target and get lolo a hat on her way to the depot cause auntie marie was upset that lolo's house was dirty so she wanted him to have a clean hat. so nikki and juni took mellvin with them. so they bought him the bubbles that are plastic..so you can catch them and if you pop them it's just plastic rather than a soap lather. so we were all playing with that. we had to wait for an hour and a half before they were gonna leave. so uncle mon and auntie marie decided to drive lolo and inang to LAX since they didn't think lolo could handle the bus ride without bathroom stops. so they left around 230pm. the bus wasn't leaving til 330pm. so we were in the waiting room watching the laker game. there was a bench with seatbelts in the waiting room. so mellvin sat there and buckled himself in. there was a lola there sitting by herself. she said something to mellvin and the next thing we knew she was rummaging through her bag. then all of a sudden she bust out with a huge hersey's symphony bar for mellvin. the boy just lucked out man. we told him to give the lola a hug and kiss and say thank you. the lola asked how old he was and we told her 4 years old. she was surprised because she said her 5 yr old grandson doesn't even know how to kiss yet. we were making such a big deal about mellvin's candy that the lola offered john and marc a candy as well to share. it was funny. but they declined. finally 330pm came and dad and uncle tony boarded the bus. they drove away. so we all went our separate ways. mom, jac and i first head to filippi's in mission gorge so mom can book a meeting there. then after that we go to michaels in carmel mountain so i can get the supplies to make my toy for child development. then we go to jamba juice cause jac wants one. while were were leaving we ran into rex. his daughter is already 9.5 months. damn how time flies. then we go to kmart and shop for stuff there. then we get food from rodrigos and finally go home. it's been a long weekend. damn.

monday
i worked this morning and was soooo drained when i got home that i didn't go to school. in the afternoon ali stopped by so i can scan some pix for her web page. found out that her lola had a heart attack and was on life support in new hampshire. after she left i logged on to AIM and in her profile it said that her lola had passed away. sorry.
then after work cousin comes over to pick up her day planner. she left it here last thursday. she's gonna come over tomorrow to help me with my toy. yayee. then mom is getting antsy being home since she's been not feeling good since wednesday night. so she wants to go to harrahs..but i hate harrahs so i convince her to go to barona. we go and it was pretty quiet there. i played war...and left the table with $125. i was stoked. before that i won $77 on some game. i don't remember what it was. since 1 won twice i knew i had 1 more chance to win to make it a hat trick. and sure enough i go to the $1 slot machines and win $209. So i walked out of there with $491. i was really stoked about that. if i wasn't enjoying myself as much at the war table i probably would have won over $200 on that. but i was having too much fun. so it was a good night for me there.

Happy Birthday Jon!!

well we are now amidst the month of march. my how time flies within a blink of an eye. i mean..in 3 weeks from yesterday i will turn 28..what the hell is that?!? that's rhetorical..no need for any comments.

i don't know what's going on with me internally. first i get hit with weird headaches, then vertigo..then yesterday i was driving to school when all of sudden i felt really sick to my stomach and the next thing i knew i was letting it all out on myself..sorry for the description. needless-to-say i never made it to school. i went home to clean up. the plan was to go to spanish and take the exam then leave so i can go to Greg's funeral at 10am in escondido. obviously that didn't happen. i rode with my mom to the funeral. It was kinda surreal. my mom, dad, and uncle tony and i went to the funeral. auntie norma and uncle ron seemed so dazed. as soon as i went up to hug grace after they all got out of the limo she just started bawling. i didn't know what to say to her. i just hugged her til she was ready to let go. ate' grema seemed in and out of daze. she never removed her dark sunglasses at all. poor ate' lorelei..she just seemed so lost. to lose her husband at such a young age and also have to take care of 3 daughters as they grieve for their father. my mind just kept on switching back and forth between present moment at Greg's funeral to greatnana's funeral. we realized that this was the first funeral that we've attended since great nana's funeral in september. i didn't recognize anyone really at the funeral..even though i spent 12 years going to their family parties. grace's eulogy of Greg was heartfelt and a journey down memory lane. i remember some of the stories she was saying. i remember going to their house across the street and being in greg's room when he was away in the air force. it just didn't seem real that he is actually gone. after the mass we went to the cemetary in the caravan. being that he was in the air force he had a military funeral. taps was played live. the last time i heard taps was at uncle george's funeral 2 years ago and it was done by a tape. as soon as taps started playing most of the people started crying. grace and grema really started crying. grema's youngest son danny was looking around at everyone a little in disbelief. then the color guard removed the flag that was draped over the coffin and that took forever. we think the guy folding the flag that this was his first time because he was shaking a lot and he kept messing up the fold..he kept folding then unfolding then folding then unfolding..poor guy. after that the mortuary people removed the flowers from the lapels of the pall bearers. they then placed their flowers on the coffin. after that the family was given roses to place on the coffin. when danny placed his rose on the coffin he just lost it. he started bawling and saying "i want my uncle Greg". he kept repeating that over and over. poor kid. he's only like 8 or 9 and having to deal with death. it was really hard to watch him. it was definitely an emotional day.

well so far that's the rollercoaster i'm on so far. care to join me?
